George parlaci di te, chi è George Alexandru Baldovin?
Sono un ballerino professionista, con una passione per la coreografia, compositore di musica, cantante e appassionato di disegno.

Descrivi la sua giornata lavorativa perfetta….
Posso condividere ogni giorno perfetto quando sono in grado di creare, lavorare o qualcosa.
La giornata lavorativa perfetta per me inizia ogni giorno molto presto la mattina, intorno alle 5, 6 con caffè, disegno e contemplazione, seguita dal lavoro sulle composizioni musicali e lezioni di balletto in studio.

Come è nata la tua passione per la danza?
Mia madre mi ha ingannato, dicendomi che mi iscriverà al karate, cosa che volevo fare all'età di 12 anni. Invece ero iscritto alla scuola di danza. Mia madreaveva la passione per il balletto classico. Siccome non era in grado di seguire il suo sogno, ha cercato di inviarlo prima a mio fratello e poi a me, è così che ho iniziato all'Accademia delle arti e poi è seguita la passione per la danza.

Da ballerino un coreografo come è stato il passaggio?
Sono ancora in quel processo in questo momento, ho lavorato come assistente coreografo per qualche piccolo progetto e sono un coreografo principiante, ho creato alcuni piccoli pezzi, in uno di essi ho composto anche la musica. Lavorando come insegnante nelle scuole ho dovuto creare piccole coreografie per gli studenti, classiche, neoclassiche e moderne.

Nello specifico, a chi sei più grato per la tua passione artistica?
Citerò qui "Snoop Dog" .. Sono davvero un grande fallo con me, non in modo egoista, ma in un modo in cui non ho smesso di lavorare, poiché tutti noi durante la nostra carriera cerchiamo di essere sempre migliori attraverso il lavoro duro. La passione artistica è in noi stessi, dobbiamo scoprirla e svilupparla .. Penso che ogni singola persona sia un potenziale artista. Sono davvero stupido per i miei genitori, perché erano entrambi artisti e anche per mio fratello Jul Baldovin che mi ha introdotto nel mondo della musica.

Da quali ballerini e coreografi sei maggiormente influenzato o ispirato?
Bene, qui posso dire Leo Mujić, coreografo premiato e direttore artistico del nostro studio di danza "Baldovin Ballet Zagreb" con il quale ho avuto il piacere di lavorare e ballare nei suoi progetti con il Teatro Nazionale Croato e Eduard Clug, il regista e coreografo con il Teatro Nazionale Sloveno - Maribor.


Se potessi svegliarti domani con un nuovo dono, quale sceglieresti?
Nessuno ha bisogno di un altro dono, tutti hanno bisogno di esplorare quelli che hanno già attraverso il lavoro e la disciplina.
Non ci ho mai pensato, ma se dovessi scegliere, probabilmente sceglierò qualcosa di legato all'arte ...

Cambieresti qualcosa nel mondo della danza in cui ti sei formato?
Sì .. l'approccio. Quando diventa un contratto, allora è il momento dell'arte di andarsene.
Quali sono gli spettacoli a cui ti senti più legato?
Sono attaccato alla qualità, all'arte e alla creazione. Non deve essere uno spettacolo specifico, un coreografo o un ballerino. Il modo migliore per dirlo sarebbe che sono attratto dall'arte onesta, arte che è reale e grezza in un certo senso ...

C'è spazio in Italia per giovani ballerini di talento e, se dovessi dare un consiglio ad un aspirante ballerino, cosa gli diresti?
Lavora senza limiti. Non c'è altro modo. Il talento è molto spesso sopravvalutato. La dedizione, la disciplina, il lavoro dietro è ciò che è più importante. Inoltre, circondati di persone che ti ispirano e ti sostengono.

Il rapporto con la tua città natale.
Sentimentale. Ho lasciato la mia città natale 20 anni fa.

 Cosa c'è di troppo serio per scherzare?
Professionalità.

I l lavoro ai tempi del "coronavirus" come stanno rispondendo i giovani artisti a questa emergenza virale e umanitaria che ha colpito l'Italia e l'Europa? Come la stai vivendo a Zagabria?
Ebbene, ancora non conosciamo gli effetti a lungo termine della pandemia. Possiamo vedere tutti che l'arte è stata molto colpita in tutto il mondo e ci sono tempi molto difficili per gli artisti,
Possiamo trovare la risposta dei giovani artisti (e non solo) nel mondo online, visto che vediamo sempre più video con coreografie fatte in casa, lezioni online, gare di balletto online. Speriamo sia una risposta temporanea.

I tuoi impegni futuri?
Essere ispirato, ispirare e dare il mio contributo al meraviglioso mondo dell'arte.

1. George   tell us about yourself, who is George Alexandru Baldovin ?
I’m a professional ballet dancer, with a drive for choreography, music composer ,singer and a passionate about drawing.

2. Describe your perfect working day….
I can call every day on which I’m able to create, work or share something a perfect day.
The perfect working day for me start every day very early in the morning, around 5, 6 with coffee,drawing and contemplation followed by work on the music compositions and ballet classes at the studio.

3. How did your passion for dance start?
My mother tricked me, telling me she will register me for karate, what I wanted to do at age 12. instead I was registered at the ballet school. ☺ She was the one with the passion for classical ballet. As she was not able to follow her dream she tried to send it to my brother first and after to me, this is how I started in the Arts Academy and the passion for dance followed after .


4. From dancer to choreographer how was the passage?.
I’m still in that process right now,I’ve worked as assistant choreographer for some small project and  I’m a beginner choreographer, I created a few small pieces,in one of them I’ve composed the music also.As I work as a teacher in schools I had to create small coreographies for the students, classical, neoclassical and modern.

5. Specifically, to whom are you most grateful for your artistic passion?
I will quote here “Snoop Dog” .. I’m most greatfoul to me, not in a selfish way,but in a way in which I didn’t stop working, as we all during our careers trying to  be better and better thru hard work. Artistic passion is in ourselves, we  have to discover it and develop it.. I think every single person is a potential artist. Most greatfoul I’m to my parents, as they where both artists and also to my brother Jul Baldovin who introduce me to the world of music.

6. Which dancers and choreographers are you most influenced by or inspired by?
Well, here I can say Leo Mujić ,awarded choreographer and the artistic director of our ballet studio  “Baldovin Ballet Zagreb “ with whom I had the pleasure to work and dance in his projects with  the Croatian National Theater and Eduard Clug , the director and choreograph with The Slovene National Theater – Maribor.

7. If you could wake up tomorrow with a new gift , which would you choose?
Nobody needs another gift , everybody needs to explore the ones they already have through work and discipline.
Never thought about it but if I would have to choose,I will probably choose something realted to art…

8. Would you change anything in the world of dance in which you were formed?
Yes.. the approach. When art becomes a contract, then is time to leave.

9. What are the shows you feel most attached to?
I’m attached to quality, artistry and creation. Doesn’t have to be a specific show, choreographer or dancer. The best way to put it would be that Im drawn to honest art, art that is real and raw in a sense…

10. Is there room in Italy for talented young dancers and, if you were to give an advice to an aspiring dancer, what would you say to him?
Work without limit. There is no other way. Talent is very frequently overrated. Dedication, discipline, work behind it is what is more important. Also, surround yourself with people that inspire you and support you.

11. The relationship with your home town.
Sentimental. As I left my home town 20 years ago.

12. What is too serious to joke about?
Professionalism.


13. The work at the time of "coronavirus" how are young artists responding to this viral and humanitarian emergency that has affected Italy and Europe? How are you experiencing it in Zagabria?
Well, we still don’t know the long term effects of the pandemic .We can all see that Art was very much affected all over the world and there are  very difficult times for artists,
We can fiind the  response of the young artists (and not only)   in the online world, as we see more and more videos with choreography made at home, online classes, online ballet competitions. Let’s hope it’s a temporary response.


14. Your future commitments?
To be inspired, to inspire and to give my contribution to the wonderful world of art.
